Frequently Asked Questions

Can my child be in the same group as his/her friend?

It is usually possible: each week the groups are created according to the age of the campers. The supervisors need to be advised of this preference before or on the first day of the week. Please note that the children who want to be in the same group will most likely have to join the age group of the youngest camper.

What is the difference between Camp Garnier and Camp Marion?

The only difference between the two camps is their location. Camp Garnier and Camp Marion will go to the pool together and will benefit of the same program (crafts, activities and daily schedule) according to the weekly themes. They will go on the same outings, but not always together as the weekly themes do not always fall in the same week at both locations.

What is your counselor-to-child ratio?

Our camp’s ratio is at least 1 counselor for every 8 children.

Are the prices for the t-shirts and the outings included in the weekly prices?

Yes, the weekly prices include the camp t-shirt and the outings of the week.

Do I have to register my child for the whole summer?

No, you may register your child for the number of weeks that you wish.

How do I know if my child understands and speaks French well enough to be admitted to the camp?

We recommend that you speak with your child’s teacher to get a sense of how much your child is able to participate in class. If you still have misgivings, please call us and we will gladly meet with you and your child to assess his/her level of fluency.

Does Camp Garnier or Camp Marion offer bus services to and from camp?

Unfortunately, neither Camp Garnier nor Camp Marion offer transportation for campers in the morning and afternoon. It is the responsibility of the parent or tutor to drop their child off in the morning and to pick them up in the afternoon.

Can I accompany my child on outings?

No, we do not allow parents or tutors to accompany their child on outings.

What if there is a change in the outing in the week for which I registered my child?

Although this seldom happens, we reserve the right to change an outing or a guest during our planning phase. We replace the original outing or guest with one that will be as much fun and in keeping with the theme for that week.
